Angelica Ciulla • December 19, 2025 3:00 PM EDT Who will be crowned on NFL Honor Award Night?

    2025 NFL Honors Predictions

As the 2025 NFL regular season comes to a close, we recognize the brightest talents during the NFL Honors. From every snap, hit, and defining moment in the 2025-2026 season, these individuals laid it all out on the line and stood out among the rest. Here are my predictions for the NFL Honor Award Winners.

Most Valuable Player Winner: Matthew Stafford

Matthew Stafford has produced a season that calls for MVP recognition. The veteran quarterback has been an excellent pocket passer, displaying his precision and accuracy. Stafford’s ability to read defensive strategies, combined with his quick decision-making skills, has led the Rams to be one of the best offenses in the NFL. Matthew Stafford is currently leading the league in NFL touchdown passes, earning a 112.2 passer rating. He has completed 66.4% of his throws and is on pace for 4,000+ passing yards this season. Stafford has been extremely reliable in big moments, making him an MVP-caliber quarterback.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Drake Maye

    Jonathan Taylor

    Josh Allen

    Jordan Love

Offensive Player of the Year Winner: Jonathan Taylor

Jonathan Taylor has reasserted himself as a dominant running back in the NFL this season. He leads the league in rushing yards, averaging 5.3 yards per carry, and has found the end zone 16 times so far this season. What makes Jonathan Taylor worthy of Offensive Player of the Year is his ability to take over games against even the toughest defenses.  Taylor has produced some of the most explosive run plays and dominates in late-game situations, making him the powerhouse of this offense. Jonathan Taylor has had a record-breaking season and is a key element to the Colts’ offense.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Jaxon Smith-Njigba

    James Cook

Defensive Player of the Year Winner: Myles Garrett

Myles Garrett has once again put together a historic season. Already a 2x DPOY award winner, Garrett is on track to get his third. He leads the NFL in sacks by a wide margin and sits one sack away from tying the NFL single-season sack record (two from breaking it). Garrett has an intense ability to generate pressure and collapse pockets. He plays a huge role in the Browns’ defense and has proven time and time again that there is no defensive player quite like him.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Nik Bonitto

    TJ Watt

Offensive Rookie of the Year Winner: Emeka Egbuka

Emeka Egbuka has emerged as one of the league’s newest playmakers. Egbuka leads the league in rookie receiving yards this season, averaging 15 yards per catch while consistently producing at a high level.  He has an incredible ability to manipulate defenses by creating separation. He has already had a significant impact on the Buccaneers’ offense and is a threat to look out for in upcoming seasons.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Tyler Warren

    Ashton Jeanty

    Jaxson Dart

    Tetairoa McMillan

Defensive Rookie of the Year Winner: Abdul Carter

Abdul Carter’s rookie season had a rough start; since then, he has emerged as a game-changing defender for the Giants. Carter leads all rookies in pass-rush pressure and earned himself an 80.4 rush grade. His ability to impact the game in rushing and passing coverage has drawn comparisons to Micah Parsons. He has been dynamic and has shown both versatility and explosiveness on the Giants’ defense. Carter has generated 38 tackles so far this season, making him a huge threat on the field.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Carson Schwesinger

    Nick Emmanwori

Comeback Player of the Year Winner: Daniel Jones

I’m not sure about you, but I never would have thought that Daniel Jones could lead the Colts all the way to a playoff appearance. Daniel Jones was labeled as an injury-prone quarterback when he played for the New York Giants. He has since flipped his career around with a 68% completion percentage, 19 touchdowns, and only 8 interceptions this season. Jones flourishes in play action and thrives against zone coverage, displaying skills he didn’t attain early in his career. This season has been a career revival for Daniel Jones.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Dak Prescott

    Stefon Diggs

    Christian McCaffrey

Protector of the Year Winner: Jordan Mailata, LT

Jordan Mailata has quickly ascended into the upper echelon of tackles in the NFL. He currently holds a 90.0 pass block grade and consistently neutralizes edge defenders while creating running lanes for Saquon Barkley. Mailata’s mix of size, power, and athleticism has been crucial in protecting Jalen Hurts. He has made rapid improvements over the years with the Eagles, but his eighth season in the league has been the most notable yet.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Trent Williams LT

    Penei Sewell RT

    Lane Johnson RT

Coach of the Year Winner: Mike Vrabel

Mike Vrabel has completely transformed the Patriots. After being fired from the Tennessee Titans in January 2024, Vrabel has transformed the fourth-worst team in the NFL into the current AFC East leaders. He has found a way to maximize players by rejuvenating seasoned veterans, like Stefon Diggs, and connecting with young talent, such as Drake Maye. Mike Vrabel has even been credited with turning Maye into an MVP candidate. Most importantly, Vrabel has built a strong culture in New England this season, and the results have been speaking for themselves.

    Honorable Mentions:

    Shane Steichen

    Sean Payton

    Mike Macdonald

  • 32 Teams, 32 NFL Hot Takes

    Angelica Ciulla •September 30, 2025 2:45 PM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • September 30, 2025 2:45 PM EDT 32 Hot Takes after week 4 of the NFL 2025-2026 seaosn.

32 Teams, 32 NFL Hot Takes

    • Philadelphia Eagles- Why have receivers?

1 month into the 2025 season, Devonta Smith and AJ Brown are absent. Smith has 158 receiving yards and a touchdown, while AJ Brown has 151 receiving yards and a touchdown. With Barkley and Hurts being the main showboats of this team, I question why the Eagles were set on acquiring high-caliber wide receivers if they’re never going to use them.

    • Washington Commanders- Show poor results against teams above .500.

Blowing out teams that are 0-3 and 1-3 isn’t impressive when they lose to teams 2-1. Granted, the Commanders have been without Jayden Daniels for 2 weeks, but he was the quarterback in the loss against the Green Bay Packers. The Washington Commanders’ defense has been inconsistent this season, ranking 20th in the NFL, lacking in pass rushing, and has proven to be pretty dismal.

    • Dallas Cowboys- New quarterback and defensive help wanted.

In the offseason, the Dallas Cowboys traded star pass rusher Micah Parsons to the Green Bay Packers, leaving Dallas’ defense vulnerable all over the field. Combine this with a quarterback that some may consider “washed”, is a recipe for disaster. Adding George Pickens to the offense has helped elevate their passing game and in the near future might be a threat.  Although the Dallas Cowboys were able to hang with the Green Bay Packers, this doesn’t say much when they play tougher opponents, such as the Eagles.

    • New York Giants- Jaxson Dart is the answer.

Let’s face it, the New York Giants didn’t stand a chance with Russell Wilson, but with a new quarterback in town, Jaxson Dart, the Giants might have a fighting chance in the future. Malik Naber’s injury in game 4 will set the Giants back; however, with years to come, we can expect to see the New York Giants only get better. Jaxon has already shown in one game that he’s able to turn this team around, a possible playoff appearance looks to be in their near future.

    • San Francisco 49ers- Injuries and Brock Purdy are a recipe for disaster.

Mr. Irrelevant, Brock Purdy, might have been impressive for what he was supposed to be his 1st year in the NFL, but I think the dream has come to an end. With 2 interceptions against Jacksonville and 2 interceptions against Seattle, it’s safe to say teams have caught on to his tricks. Brock Purdy has only played 2 games this year due to injury, but I fear he will continue the trend of turnovers. This, combined with George Kittle’s injury and Brandon Aiyuk still being out, means the San Francisco 49ers will have a lot of work to do if they want to maintain playoff seeding.

    • Seattle Seahawks- A defense you wouldn’t have expected.

Before this season started, I had no expectations for Seattle to be as impressive as they are. According to NFL.com, Seattle has the 9th-ranked defense in the NFL, and, personally, I would rank them even higher than that. Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Sam Darnold seem to be connecting, making the perfect football quarterback-wide receiver duo. Combine the chemistry with Walker and Charbonnet sharing rushes, and the Seattle Seahawks are a real threat to the NFC and possible NFC championship game contenders.

    • Los Angeles Rams- Puka Nacua is everything we thought he would be.

When Davante Adams got traded to the Rams, speculation was circulating on what balls would be taken away from Puka Nacua. Matthew Stafford put an end to that narrative, taking nothing away from Puka, and still showing plans to keep him as his number 1 guy. The Rams are a sneaky team; they’re not a media stunt, flashy organization. They’re able to win and keep it moving on to the next game. Being in a tough division, they’re tied with the Seahawks and the 49ers this early in the season. I don’t think they’ll win that division, but they could be a great wildcard threat.

    • Arizona Cardinals- Marvin Harrison Jr is disappointing.

For a team that has no rushing stars, except their quarterback, I thought they would be an extremely pass-heavy team. Marvin Harrison Jr. was all the talk of the season; journalists even said he could be the thing to turn Arizona around, and frankly, he’s falling shy of the hype. In 4 games, he’s produced 208 receiving yards and 2 touchdowns; however, even with these stats, tight end, Trey McBride has more receiving yards and is more impressive at this point in the season.

    • Detroit Lions- Jahmyr Gibbs and Amon-Ra St. Brown are unstoppable.

This may be a controversial take, but wrap up the season, and I think we possibly found the team to beat. After suffering an excruciating loss in week 1 against the Green Bay Packers, they are mowing teams down. I have yet to see a defense able to stop Jahmyr Gibbs, combined with 6 touchdowns for 307 yards from Amon-Ra St. Brown. I think this team is better than the Eagles, Chiefs, Bills, etc. If Aiden Hutchinson and the rest of the team can stay healthy this season, I think this may be our Super Bowl 2025-2026 winner.

    • Green Bay Packers- Adding Micah Parsons did nothing.

Green Bay is facing some offensive injuries early this season, but I believe the offense isn’t the problem. Jordan Love can maintain the game and utilize his weapons effectively, but the combination of poor special teams, execution mistakes, and gaping holes in the defense is what allows teams like Dallas to capitalize. This season, Micah Parsons has 2.5 sacks, on pace for his 13 sacks per year average, but is this enough to keep Green Bay surviving? They seem to be in the same position as they were last season without Parsons.

    • Minnesota Vikings- They don’t use Justin Jefferson enough.

Justin Jefferson is the type of elite receiver that if the ball is within finger’s reach to him, it will be caught, so why is Minnesota not using him enough? In their game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, I saw Jefferson open and uncovered about 4 times that Carson Wentz overlooked. A 38-point blowout win 1 week, followed by a 3-point loss the next, is not a consistent way to prevail in this league. Between an unsustainable offense and rookie JJ. McCarthy getting hurt, this is going to be a long, bumpy road for Minnesota.

    • Chicago Bears- They need to build a sustainable offense.

The Bears have the quarterback to get them there, but without a sustainable offense, they’re never going to be that team. You could put Mahomes out there, but without offensive line stability, developing play calls, and receiving depth, they would be right where they are now. I predict the Bears will finish just shy of wild card seeding. They need to give their offense time to develop as well. With 2 new head coaches in 5 years, the high turnover rate leaves no development and lacks the coach-to-player connection every team needs.

    • Tampa Bay Buccaneers- They’re 1 big mixed bag.

Tampa Bay had decent pass blocking, terrible run blocking, and they leave wide receivers open all over the field. They have good wide receivers, solid running backs, but Baker Mayfield turns the ball over on downs. The Bucs have red zone play calling weaknesses, and a promising defensive line. You never know what you’re getting out of them week to week.

    • Atlanta Falcons- One quarterback away from being a scary NFC team.

Atlanta has heavy competitive players like Bijan Robinson, Drake London, and Kyle Pitts. Atlanta also has a great offensive line, showing me a promising route for a deep playoff run in the future. The only thing that would make it better is a quarterback to match. If Atlanta can draft a quarterback like Arch Manning, Garrett Nussmeier, or John Mateer, they are going to be a huge threat.

    • Carolina Panthers- Bryce Young looks less like a No.1 pick and more like a backup.

The Carolina Panthers have bet their odds and franchise on the hopes of Bryce Young and lost. Bryce Young bails out of the pocket under pressure, lacks game management presence, and overall, just looks “lost”. His body language and 2nd guessing himself are showing me he is not the quarterback who will get Carolina out of their win drought anytime soon.

    • New Orleans Saints- Alvin Kamara and Chris Olave are so back.

Chris Olave and Alvin Kamara look like stars once again despite their losing record, which is due to the absence of a quarterback in New Orleans. Alvin Kamara has 256 yards this season, making him on track to hit 1000 yards. Chris Olave has been beating cornerbacks off the line and creating space. Give them a quarterback, and they’ll start winning games.

    • Buffalo Bills- Rack up in October, Crumble in January

The Bills are often sold to fans as a Super Bowl team but then are seen struggling to sustain their performance in three quarters when competing against teams like the 0-4 Saints. The Bills rely too heavily on James Cook and have few reliable targets. Every year, the Bills fall short in the postseason, and against the Chiefs, they’re 0-3 in the playoffs when it matters most. They rack up stats in October, but when the pressure of playoff January is on, they crumble.

    • New England Patriots- Worst position to be in

In the NFL, there is only one thing worse than being last… being mediocre. The New England Patriots are not bad enough to get a 1st pick and not good enough to make the playoffs. The Patriots are thin at wide receivers and need offensive linemen to protect Drake Maye. They’re not a good enough team yet to get over the hump into the elite teams and will need to give up some talent like Stephon Diggs in hopes of getting enough draft picks to tend to their needs.

    • New York Jets- Another rebuild is in order.

The Jets are 0-4 this season, and it hasn’t been because Justin Fields was hurt. They continue to have issues handling the ball and are fumble prone. If the opposing defense can take Garret Wilson out of the game, the Jets have no other options. Justin Fields is forced to run the ball himself a lot, which is unsustainable. They’re unable to consistently move the ball on the ground in the run game, and despite the front seven on defense being talented, the rest is slightly shaky. Not to mention, they have to be one of the most undisciplined teams in the NFL; penalties are ultimately costing them games. I sense a rebuild is in the future again.

    • Miami Dolphins- Tua’s not the problem.

Despite the majority of media blaming Tua and head coach Mike McDaniel for what’s happening in Miami, I believe the problem is the offensive line and the defense. Miami’s defense gives up third-down conversions. The team lacks corners, safeties, and middle linebackers. The Miami Dolphins haven’t had an offensive line in years, leaving Tua no choice but to force the ball out in seconds, not giving him time to rescan the field if the first option is not available.  This is also why this quarterback has been seen with multiple concussions, and a turnover rep. Chris Grier is partly to blame for not picking up talent in the offseason.

    • Los Angeles Chargers- A Cinderella team

I’ve been watching the Chargers, and frankly, I’m not impressed. Justin Herbert takes too many hits, and they don’t have an established run game identity. The offensive line doesn’t help Herbert out, leaving him under pressure often. And despite having big defensive names like James Derwin and Khalil Mack, they struggle to work together as a unit. Yet, somehow, they sneak into the playoffs every year. Other than 4 or 5 games, the Chargers have a fairly easy schedule. Is the schedule enough to take them to the playoffs this year?

    • Kansas City Chiefs- Not the same

Whether it’s because of Rashee Rice being out or because Xavier Worthy was missing time, one thing is for sure: the Chiefs look a little off at the beginning of this season. Travis Kelce still looks distracted to me, and Patrick Mahomes seems to be missing a strong WR1. With Rashee returning in week 6 and recently getting Worthy back, this could be enough to make up for the underwhelming efforts from Kelce to continue the dynasty.

    • Denver Broncos- 3rd down is their kryptonite.

In every game I watch of Denver’s, I can’t help but notice they can’t convert on 3rd down to save themselves. They are 12 for 37 on 3rd down due to a lack of effective playmakers. Their play calls are very predictable, and Bo Nix seems to struggle under pressure. When the pocket begins to collapse, his accuracy goes down. The Broncos are ineffective in rushing on 3rd downs. Until Sean Payton finds a way to attack the defense on 3rd down instead of crumbling under pressure, they’ll keep up the struggle.

    • Las Vegas Raiders- Injuries to the offensive line leave Geno shaken.

Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller suffered a high ankle sprain, which seemed to be a big part of their offensive line. With the lack of quarterback protection, Geno Smith has been scrambling, leading him to throw 3 interceptions in the game against the Bears. The offensive line has also been struggling with fundamentals like pass and run blocking. The Raiders show major vulnerability in the secondary that many opponents have been exploiting, and the offense seems to be inconsistent and unable to keep up with the amount of points their defense is giving up.  It’s a nightmare in Vegas.

    • Pittsburgh Steelers- Did DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers improve the offense that much?

Last season, the Pittsburgh Steelers were mediocre, but now they’re leading the AFC North. What changes? DK Metcalf and Aaron Rodgers. I thought we’d seen the last of Aaron Rodgers in his disastrous performance last season with the Jets; however, the old Aaron Rodgers seemed to make a return. Combine that with the clutch hands of DK Metcalf, and you’ve got a threat of an offense. Not to mention adding Darius Slay to the defense was a nice addition to the team. The only thing that would make them better is waking T.J. Watt up and getting him involved in the defense.

    • Cincinnati Bengals- They’re nothing without Burrow.

Joe Burrow suffered turf toe and had to undergo surgery, leaving the Bengals’ playoff hopes on Browning. The Bengals are left looking like a whole different team without Burrow. The offense had to make some route adjustments, dialing up shorter and safer passing plays. This limits the explosiveness of Tee Higgins and Ja’Marr Chase. Everything Browning throws seems to be overthrown or underthrown, never right to the chest plate or in a position the wide receivers can get it. There also seems to be a huge chemistry gap with Browning. The Bengals better hope this never happens to Burrow again because this backup doesn’t seem to know how to utilize his weapons.

    • Baltimore Ravens- Injuries and bad defense don’t mix.

The Baltimore Ravens have been known for a strong offensive presence with members like Derrick Henry and Lamar Jackson; however, due to their defense struggles to stop the run, this is Baltimore’s downfall. Combine that with the injuries to Madubike, Humphrey, Smith, Stanley, and others, and the Ravens may fall short, but it won’t be because of the offense. The Ravens also don’t use Derrick Henry enough, especially on 3rd down. They have a strong run presence and need to establish it in the games going forward.

    • Cleveland Browns- They wasted all their resources.

The Cleveland Browns spent this offseason getting yet another quarterback who will sit on the bench. With DeShaun Watson being one foot out the door on IR, Dillon Gabriel, Joe Flacco, and Shedeur Sanders are their remaining options. Four bench worthy quarterbacks sounds like a waste of money to me when they lack receivers, running backs, and a quarterback that could establish a long-running presence in this organization.

    • Indianapolis Colts- Improved a lot despite a quarterback bust.

Anthony Richardson is a big letdown, but Jonathan Taylor is back in his elite form. The Colts have strong momentum, and even with a quarterback like Daniel Jones, Indiana has been able to move around the pocket, control the clock, make excellent decisions, and have an identifying offense that could lead them to the playoffs this season. If the offensive line can tighten up to create more openings for Taylor, the Colts dominate the AFC.

    • Jacksonville Jaguars- Trevor Lawrence isn’t living up to expectations.

Trevor Lawrence is prone to interceptions and fumbles. There is a high risk on every pass he throws, and he’s inconsistent when it comes to decision-making. He’s limiting Jacksonville’s offensive potential and weighing Travis Hunter down. Hunter’s been an open target that often gets missed, and their timing is off, leading people to think Hunter is underperforming even if he’s making the right reads. Replace Trevor Lawrence, and Jacksonville could start to stand a chance in their division.

    • Tennessee Titans- Brian Callahan is lost.

The Tennessee Titans have a 0-4 start this season, with no promise of looking up. The Titans have no identity, show poor execution, and were 3-18 before this season. They are a very undisciplined team and receive a good number of delay-of-game penalties. Callahan has made some extremely questionable coaching decisions and play calls, leaving him under scrutiny. Even with a quarterback like Cam Ward, until they fix the head coaching situation and find a solution, they will keep losing games, and I blame it on Brian Callahan.

    • Houston Texans- Where did freshman C.J. Stroud go?

In the 2023 draft, the Houston Texans selected C.J. Stroud as the second overall pick. In C.J. Stroud’s freshman year, he threw 4,108 passing yards and 23 touchdowns and won Offensive Rookie of the Year. Since then, C.J. Stroud has been less effective, turning the ball over more, and has taken a lot of hits behind the line of scrimmage. Part of this is to blame on the offensive line for putting C.J. Stroud in harm’s way; however, with the stats drop, it leads us to wonder where freshman C.J. Stroud went, was it all just a fluke, and how can Houston get him back?

We’re a month into the season, and if there’s one truth across the NFL, it’s this: half the league is pretending, the other half is hurt, and only a few teams are actually built for January.

  • Tom Brady in the Booth: Insight or Inside Information?

    Angelica Ciulla •August 28, 2025 11:50 AM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • August 28, 2025 11:50 APM EDT NFL lifts broadcasting restrictions on former NFL QB and Raiders owner Tom Brady

Tom Brady in the Booth: Insight or Inside Information?

As all football fans know, Tom Brady is a massive name in the NFL. This 7x Super Bowl Champion and 5x MVP has been acknowledged as the greatest of all time. He has broken several records, including most Pro Bowl appearances (15), most games started by a quarterback, being the only player in history to achieve 100,000 total passing yards, most playoff wins by a quarterback, most passing touchdowns the list goes on.

The star quarterback retired from the NFL on February 1, 2023. His infamous name stayed out of the headlines for a while, that was until September 8, 2024, when Fox Network announced fans would see this future Hall of Famer in the broadcast booth. One month later, word got out that Tom Brady became a partial owner of the Las Vegas Raiders. Due to this being a conflict of interest, the NFL put restrictions on Tom Brady’s broadcasting. Some of these restrictions included Tom Brady not being allowed to enter team facilities, attend practices, participate in production meetings, and being banned from meeting with players and coaches.

These rules and restrictions seemed like a great solution to the issue of being an owner and announcer, and the rules made sense at the time. After all, what is to stop an owner of 1 team from finding out information, routes, playcalls, etc., and exposing them for another team’s benefit, especially if there are meetings and interviews being held with coaches and staff? These rules were put in place to protect all teams from the risk of exposing confidential documentation that is in place. This leads me to 1 massive question. What is the NFL thinking by easing up on these restrictions?

As of August 28, 2025, the NFL lifted the ban on Tom Brady that prevented him from participating in production meetings with NFL teams, including broadcast meetings and meetings with coaches and players. At these meetings, sensitive information such as insight into team strategies, injury updates, player roles, behind-the-scenes stories, and conversations between players and coaches gets revealed. This even includes exclusive details on new plans of action in the upcoming weeks. Tom Brady still remains prohibited from attending team practices or entering the team’s facilities; however, this screams “risk of anti-tampering policy”.

Why did these rules change? Brady was temporarily restricted during Super Bowl LIX, showing that the rules could be “flexible”. Hans Schroeder, NFL executive vice president of media distribution, even went as far as saying this was a “natural step forward” to improve the commentary without compromising fairness. In other words, the people want to see more Tom Brady. Viewers love Tom Brady’s insight due to his history in the NFL.

Having Tom Brady as a broadcaster is all great and wonderful; however, the argument to be made is that there are plenty of other NFL broadcasters who are former players and don’t own teams. For example: Troy Aikman, Matt Ryan, JJ Watt, Rob Gronkowski, Ryan Fitzpatrick,  Tony Gonzalez, Andrew Whitworth, Richard Sherman, to name a few. The argument is, if the NFL is going to let Tom Brady participate in a production and broadcasting meeting surrounded by potential classified information, he should be forced to sell his 5%; otherwise be relieved of his role as a broadcaster.

  • Commanders Star WR Terry McLaurin Requests Trade Amid Contract Dispute

    Angelica Ciulla •August 05, 2025 9:47 AM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • August 05, 2025 9:47 AM EDT Star Wide receiver Terry McLaurin trade could leave Commanders in shambles.

Commanders Star WR Terry McLaurin Requests Trade Amid Contract Dispute

On Tuesday, July 31, star wide receiver Terry McLaurin for the Washington Commanders requested a trade over a contract dispute. There were stalled negotiations during the entire offseason, leading to McLaurin missing offseason activities. Head coach Dan Quinn confirmed he was informed of the situation and responded by saying, “We love Terry…For Terry and the trade request, that’s part of normal business that is happening around the NFL. It’s normal, we understand it, and we just throw our very best practices out on the field.”

McLaurin participated in practice on July 27th after being placed on the PUP List due to an ankle injury he sustained late in the 2024 season, but has not been participating in team practices since the announcement. McLaurin remains at the facility and can attend meetings, though there are no reports of him partaking.

What does this mean for the Commanders?

In the 2024 season, Terry McLaurin produced 82 receptions for 1,096 yards, 13 touchdowns, averaging 13.4 yards per catch, making up about 22.5% of the team’s total catches and 44.8% of the Commanders’ touchdowns. McLaurin proved to be a crucial part of the offense during their playoff run, leading the Commanders to the NFC Championship against the Super Bowl champions, the Philadelphia Eagles, in which Terry McLaurin delivered a receiving touchdown and 51 yards while battling through an ankle injury. Without McLaurin, the Commanders would be taking a massive blow in their offense.

    Adding Deebo Samuel

The Washington Commanders added Veteran Wide receiver Deebo Samuel in March 2025 in a trade for the 5th round pick from the San Francisco 49ers. However, despite Deebo Samuel’s versatility and stardom in the NFL, he has been showing signs of declining performance in recent years. In 2021, Deebo Samuel produced 77 receptions for 1,405 yards, 6 receiving touchdown’s and 8 rushing touchdowns. Compared to the 2024 season, he only has 51 receptions for 670 yards, 3 receiving touchdowns, and 1 rushing touchdown. The stats are nearly a 50% decrease. Though having a veteran presence is necessary, the Commanders need a breakout emerging talent with enhanced speed to keep up with the capabilities of Jayden Daniel’s sling of an arm.

Unless other teams are looking to exchange star wide receivers such as Tyreek Hill, accepting anything other than a top-tier wide receiver would be detrimental and would possibly not benefit in aiding the team’s biggest needs, causing the Commanders to take a huge step back next year. Even with a strong running back presence such as Brian Robinson Jr. and Austin Eckler, the Commanders are a passing team. Jayden Daniels has shown with his playmaking capabilities and a strong wide receiver core, the team is versatile in both, but with an emphasis on the pass. Regardless, Deebo Samuels will make a great contribution in both categories, but without a top-tier wide receiver, the commanders will be left in shambles this season.

  • Countdown to the Deadline: Top Names on the 2025 MLB Trade Block

    Angelica Ciulla •July 27, 2025 9:10 AM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • July 27, 2025 9:30 AM EDT MLB Trade Dealine is approaching. Who is hot on the trade block?

Countdown to the Deadline: Top Names on the 2025 MLB Trade Block

With the 2025 MLB Trade Deadline approaching on July 31st, front offices across the league are deep in negotiations, strategizing for playoff pushes or long-term rebuilds. This year’s market of candidates is loaded with intriguing possibilities, and several notable names have emerged to be moved before the deadline. Let’s take a look at some of the top players and potential landing spots:

Arizona Diamondbacks: Eugenio Suárez (3B) & Merill Kelly (RHP)
The Arizona Diamondbacks have slipped to a 51-53 record, taking them out of wild card position and shifting into seller mode. Eugenio Suárez is a veteran 3rd baseman with an expiring contract who is drawing attention from contenders seeking power and depth. Teams projected to make an offer include: Seattle Mariners, Philadelphia Phillies, and the Detroit Tigers.
Merill Kelly is a reliable right-handed starter that remains one of the more consistent seasoned pitchers available. Kelly could slot nicely into the middle of any contending rotation, looking to add depth and poise.

Pittsburgh Pirates: Mitch Keller (RHP), Oneil Cruz (CF/INF), David Bednar (RHP)
The Pirates are sitting at a dismal 42-62 record, leading to them being in a clear rebuild mode. The lack of offensive talent shifted the focus to trading high value pitching assets.
Mitch Keller has a 3.48 ERA over 119 innings, including 20 starts. He is one of the few available pitchers with long-term value. Teams interested in him are: Toronto Blue Jays, New York Mets, and Chicago Cubs.
O’Neil Cruz, the towering is 6’7” infielder/ outfielder, leading the league in stolen bases; however, Cruz is batting .219 and a 31.9% strikeout rate. Despite the inconsistency, his ceiling remains high, prompting teams like New York Yankees and other inquiries. The Pirates have made statements that they were only interested in trading him for a massive haul.
David Bendar, a late innings arm who is pitching a 2.31 ERA over 1.11 WHIP, is viewed as a high leverage option. He was considered to be the Pirates “lights out” closer and is rumored to be a potential package deal with Keller. David Bendar would be perfect for any team looking to upgrade their bullpens.

St. Louis Cardinals: Ryan Helsley (RHP)
This 2 time All Star and NL 2024 Reliever of the Year winners, Ryan Helsley, has become one of the most talked about names in the deadline. With an expiring contract and a franchise record of 49 saves in the 2024 season, his value remains high, even though this year, his stats are dipping with a 3.09 ERA and 20 saves. He still throws high 90-mile per hour fastballs and still offers a promising outlook to contending bullpens. There are multiple teams interested in him, such as: Philadelphia Phillies, Toronto Blue Jays, and Los Angeles Dodgers.

Minnesota Twins: Jhoan Duran (RHP) & Griffin Jax (RHP)
The Minnesota Twins are looking to sell some assets due to their 50-53 record. Both Johan Duran and Griffin Jax are controllable, increasing their value.
Jhoan Duran is known as a strikeout specialist. He has a high performance with a 1.94 ERA and 15 saves and is one of the league’s most electrifying relievers. He would be a great addition to any team looking to add depth to the bullpen; however, there is a high asking price of Johan Duran. Teams interested in Duran include: New York Mets, Philadelphia Phillies, New York Yankees, Los Angeles Dodgers, and Toronto Blue Jays. Minnesota Twins have stated they want “at least two Top 100 Caliber Prospects”.
Griffin Jax was astonishing in the 2024 season with 95 strikeouts, 2.03 ERA, 0.87 WHIP in 72 innings. He averages a 96-mile per hour fastball and has a valuable bullpen arm. He is known for his high strikeout ability, making him a coveted piece. Teams interested in Jax include: New York Mets, New York Yankees, and Arizona Diamondbacks.

Kansas City Royals: Seth Lugo (RHP)
The Kansas City Royals are 3 games under .500, due to their depth concerns and offensive issues. Seth Lugo is a reliable veteran starter, but the Royals are hoping putting him up for trade would lead to hitting help. Seth Lugo is under a 2 year $45 million contract but will most likely decline his $15 million 2026 player option, leading the Royals to have no choice but to trade him. He finished 2nd in AL CY Young Voting in 2024 and had a 2.95 ERA in 2025. Teams in playoff contention have expressed interest in him such as: New York Yankees, Toronto Blue Jays, and Chicago Cubs

    Baltimore Orioles: Ryan O’Hearn (1B/DH)
This veteran left hand first baseman and designated hitter is a top candidate for the 2025 trade deadline. With a 45-58 record the The Baltimore Orioles are in full sell mode and Ryan O’Hearn is among the veterans to be moved along with Cedric Mullins, Zach Efflin, and even possibly Felix Bautista. Ryan O’Hearn is a left-handed slugger with a slashing .306 batting average, .386 on base percentage, 10 HR’s, and a .881 OPS. His elite plate discipline ranks among the best in the league, regularly compelling pitchers to throw more strikes than they would against the average batter ranking O’Hearn amongst the elite left-handed hitters available He would be a great fit for any team looking to extend left-handed hitting and offensive needs. Prime suitors include: Houston Astros, Boston Red Sox, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Minnesota Twins, and San Diego Padres.

The 2025 trade deadline is shaping up to be one of the most active in recent years. With contenders eyeing every available arm and bat and rebuilding teams looking to retool for the future, expect a flurry of last-minute deals that could reshape the 2025 MLB picture. As July 31st nears, the chaos of the trade season is only just beginning for GM’s, coaches, players, and fans watching what is about to unfold.

  • NBA Finals 2025: Game 7 Preview- A Clash for the Ages

    Angelica Ciulla •June 20, 2025 10:45 AM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • June 20, 2025 10:45 AM EDT Indiana Pacers and Oklahoma City Thunder Battle it out for Game 7. Who will come out as the 2025 NBA Champion?

NBA Finals 2025: Game 7 Preview- A Clash for the Ages

It all comes down to this — Game 7 of the NBA 2025 Finals is upon us. After a hard-fought series between the Indiana Pacers and the Oklahoma City Thunder, both teams are just one win away from securing the championship. We’ve witnessed standout performances, missed opportunities, and momentum swings that have made this Finals series one of the most unpredictable in recent memory.

In Game 6, the Pacers delivered their most cohesive performance since Game 1, executing on both ends of the court with impressive chemistry. Indiana capitalized on Oklahoma City’s sloppy ball handling, turning turnovers into critical points that shifted the game’s momentum. On the other hand, Game 5 told a different story, with OKC dominating Indiana, a game in which Pacers’ star Tyrese Haliburton was held scoreless until the third quarter and failed to make an impact in the fourth.

For Game 7, both teams will need key players to rise to the occasion. Indiana forward Aaron Nesmith, who averages 43% in 3pt shooting and 50% in Field goals during the regular season, has averaged just 10.5 points per game in the playoffs. If the Pacers hope to silence the crowd at Paycom Center and walk away with the trophy, they’ll need Nesmith to find his rhythm.

On the Thunder’s side, small forward Jalen Williams exploded in Game 5 with a career playoff high of 40 points, but faltered in Game 6, putting up only 16 points and recording the lowest plus-minus in NBA Finals history. OKC will need him to bounce back strong if they want to finish what they started.

Defensively, both teams have brought intensity, applying pressure in the paint, forcing turnovers, and disrupting offensive flow. However, the series has also been plagued by unforced errors: traveling violations, double dribbles, missed rebounds, and poor passes have all contributed to unpredictable shifts in momentum.

This has also been one of the most foul-heavy Finals in recent history. With 207 fouls called through six games, including a staggering 53 in Game 4 alone, which led to 71 free throw attempts, officiating and composure at the line may once again play a major role in deciding the outcome.

Looking ahead to Sunday, expect both teams to come out firing. The stakes are at their peak, and fans should be prepared for a high-energy battle filled with aggressive defense, clutch performances, and, if the series trend continues, plenty of whistles.

Game 7 promises to be a memorable finish to a wild and unpredictable series, and NBA fans everywhere are in for a treat.

Angelica Ciulla • May 22, 2025 2:10 PM EDT pacers vs. Knicks leads to a showdown for Game 1. Pacers Prevail.

Pacers Outlast Knicks in Overtime Thriller to Take Game 1

Just when it seemed the Conference Finals couldn’t get any more intense, the New York Knicks and Indiana Pacers delivered a Game 1 showdown that lived up to every bit of the hype.

Despite not reaching the Eastern Conference Finals in 25 years, the Knicks came to play. The game remained tightly contested through three quarters before the Knicks pulled ahead in the fourth, leading by 14 points with just three minutes remaining.

That’s when Aaron Nesmith caught fire, draining six three-pointers in the final five minutes. His clutch shooting brought the Pacers within striking distance. With the Knicks clinging to a two-point lead, Tyrese Haliburton launched a deep three that banked in, but replays revealed his toe was on the line. The bucket tied the game instead of giving Indiana the lead. Unaware, Haliburton celebrated with Reggie Miller’s infamous “choke” gesture, adding fuel to the drama.

Overtime brought more fireworks. Both teams traded buckets in a high-stakes back-and-forth. With 18.9 seconds left and the Knicks down by one, Jalen Brunson turned the ball over after a deflection originally ruled on Andrew Nembhard but overturned upon review.

From there, chaos turned into brilliance.

Everyone expected the Knicks to foul quickly, but the Pacers had other plans. Andrew Nembhard inbounded to Obi Toppin, then took the ball back as a decoy. As the Knicks swarmed Nembhard to foul, he passed back to Toppin, who was left wide open for a momentum-shifting dunk. Pacers led 138–135 with 15.3 seconds left.

The Knicks scrambled to answer. Brunson, guarded tightly by Nembhard, missed a three. Josh Hart grabbed the rebound and dished it to Karl-Anthony Towns, who also missed from deep. A mad scramble ensued, ending with Mikal Bridges knocking the ball out of bounds. Pacers ball, 0.2 seconds on the clock.

In a bizarre final twist, Haliburton inbounded the ball to Towns, giving the Knicks one last miracle chance. But Towns’ last-second attempt missed, sealing a dramatic Game 1 victory for Indiana.

If this is the energy Game 1 brought, the rest of the series promises to be unforgettable.

  • Tatum’s Injury Derails Celtics’ Hopes: Achilles Tear Ends Superstar’s Season

    Angelica Ciulla •May 13, 2025 12:07 PM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • May 13, 2025 12:07 PM EDT Superstar Jayson Tatum suffers a devastating late fourth quarter injury, leading to the Celtics’ loss against the Knicks.

Tatum’s Injury Derails Celtics’ Hopes: Achilles Tear Ends Superstar’s Season

Tragedy struck in Madison Square Garden last night in the fourth game of the Knicks and Celtics’ Eastern Conference semifinal playoff series. Superstar power forward Jayson Tatum was having quite the night, scoring 42 points, while also playing some of the best defense we’ve ever seen from him.

Through the third and fourth quarters, the Celtics and the Knicks were trading 3’s in a shootout battle. That was until disaster unfolded when Jayson Tatum suffered a non-contact injury late in the fourth quarter. It appears that Tatum may have suffered a potential Achilles tear, which would leave him out for the rest of the playoffs and most of the 2025-2026 season.

As Tatum was assisted off the court, Karl-Anthony Towns and other players of both the Knicks and Celtics applauded him, showing their respects. Tatum was later seen being taken to the locker room in a wheelchair, visibly in pain.

In his post-game press conference, Knicks point guard Jalen Brunson took a moment to give his prayers and condolences to Jayson Tatum. Shortly after, a wave of support poured in through social media from several other members of the NBA, offering prayers and condolences to Tatum, such as Lebron James and ex-Celtics’ guard Isaiah Thomas.

It is hard to tell what this means for the rest of the Celtics’ season and how this will affect next season. What we do know is players like Jaylen Brown and Derrick White will be left to step it up while Tatum is recovering from this catastrophe.

  • Kawhi Leonard’s Heating Up

    Angelica Ciulla • April 22, 2025 1:45 PM EDT

Angelica Ciulla • April 22, 2025 1:45 PM EDT Kawhi Leonard makes a comeback during NBA Playoffs 2025/ Angelica Ciulla

    Kawhi Leonard’s Heating Up

Kawhi Leonard is back on top after seeming to have a rough couple of seasons. Kawhi Leonard was once a superstar NBA player due to his ability to be dominant on both sides of the court and versatility that came so naturally he made it look easy. After a series of knee injuries, his career seemed to take a back seat and be less evident in the eyes of the NBA. That was until this 2 time MVP shocked the league with his recent performance.

Kawhi Leonard did the implausible by leading his team to victory against the Denver Nuggets and Nikola Jokic. How did he do it? Kawhi Keonard pulled out a series of jump shots, intense defense, 3-pt shooting, and ball handling capabilities we haven’t seen from  him since the 2021, his last fully healthy post-season series.

At the end of the recent Playoff game between the Clippers v. Nuggets we see Kawhi Leonard defending Nikola Jokic in what seems to be a possible mismatch on the court. Down by 3, Nikola Jokic shoots the ball in a desperate attempt to tie the game when Kawhi Leonard attempts to block the shot. This was enough to distract Nikola leading to a miss and loss for the Denver Nuggets.

The exceptional defensive performance, combined with the 39 pts. Kawhi Leonard was able to score on offense, gives the LA Clippers the hope they have been searching for with a chance at an NBA Championship for the 1st time ever. The astonishing win ties the series 1-1 as we are on the edge of our seats with anticipation on who will progress down the path of the NBA Playoffs.

  • Miami Heat Falls Short Again

Angelica Ciulla • Mar 17, 2025 9:25 AM EDT Miami Heat loses another game after Jimmy Butler trade/ Angelica Ciulla

    Miami Heat Falls Short Again

After losing 7 games in a row including 5 home games, you have to wonder what is a team like the Miami Heat missing?

Despite having key players like Tyler Hero, Bam Adebayo, and Andrew Wiggins, the Heat still falls short when it comes to facing playoff eligible teams.

The Miami Heat has shown to produce high quality defense against teams like the Celtics and Timberwolves; however, they fall short in PPG % compared to other playoff contending teams.

Players such as Andrew Wiggins and Tyler Hero need to be in the 28 PPG range along with Bam Adebayo in the mid 25 PPG range. Currently Tyler Hero, Bam Adebayo, and Andrew Wiggins are all in the 17-19 PPG range leading the Miami Heat to fall short when playing teams such like the Celtics, OKC, and the Lakers, who are featuring players scoring 28-40 points per game.
